The SELAM story began with the location in Addis Ababa. In 1986, the founder Zahai Röschli was given a generous amount of land to build the first children's home. A school, a vocational training center and various projects for the local population around the SELAM site soon followed. All programs aim to strengthen children and young people, as well as adults in need, and enable them to lead independent lives. Today it is the largest SELAM location.
